you're the keeper of secrets
the bearer of burdens
the sharer of hearts

the giver
never the receiver
the supposed light unto their paths and lamp unto their feet
the lighthouse in their familial darkness

you're a beacon of hope
a role model, thinker, leader, pioneer
you're everything they're not and hope to aspire to
