what would they say if they knew
how do you find one who's separate from you
who places not a halo on your head
and beckons you to behave or go to bed

how do you find one who doesn't know you as daddy's appendage
so they wont judge you for being unperfect
maybe then you won't be so prone
to being so a-lone

how come people have god mothers and god fathers
where're mine?
where are they that care
or does being a pastor's kid scare?
maybe they think im self-sufficient
but no, every kid is deficient
